Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Review the Building Permit Information page and determine whether the project needs a standard building permit, agricultural/commercial permit, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, driveway, culvert, or related permit.
- 02 Submit permit applications and digital plans by email to permits@townoftrenton.wi.gov; paper and digital plans are required for new homes, additions, remodels, decks, fences, and accessory structures.
- 03 Complete the Plan Review Checklist and, where the project extends outside the existing footprint, complete the Washington County Permit Signoff Self Certification Form and county self-certification instructions.
- 04 Pay by cash, check payable to Town of Trenton, or credit card/e-check through the posted MSB payment link.
- 05 Obtain permit issuance and complete required inspections with the building inspector.
