Contractor requirements

Current City of Nitro contractor business license required in addition to WV state license.

1. 01
   Ensure the contractor holds a current City of Nitro business license before applying. Obtain a Nitro Business License from City Hall Services if not already licensed.
2. 02
   Obtain the building permit application from the Building Department at City Hall.
3. 03
   Submit completed application with supporting documents to the Building Department at 2009 20th Street.

   Pay the permit fee per the Building Permit Fees Appendix (available from the Building Department).
5. 05
   Receive permit; no building permit is valid until notified by proper Nitro officials.
6. 06
   Post permit on site. For all commercial occupancies, obtain and install a Knox Box (Fire Department secure key box) as required.
7. 07
   Schedule inspections through the Building Department.
