When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Fayetteville
Building permits are required for all structures within city limits, including single-family homes, additions, renovations, accessory structures, commercial/industrial buildings, utilities (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC), and demolition.

- Contractors must hold a WV Contractor License for residential work exceeding $5,000 (general) or $10,000 (residential classification). Contractors must also obtain and maintain a current City Business License per Article 673 and maintain Workers' Compensation Insurance per WV Code 23-2-5.

- 10 Pass all inspections and obtain Certificate of Occupancy before occupancy
