When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Raymond
A building permit is required for all construction projects within the City of Raymond.
- Exempt Fences 6 feet or shorter in height
- Exempt Sheds and outbuildings 10 feet by 12 feet or smaller, with no permanent foundation, plumbing, or electrical connections
- Exempt Residential re-roofing
- Exempt Woodstove or heat pump installations (Mechanical Permit required)

- 02 Complete the application with all required supporting documents (site plan, construction drawings).
- 03 Submit application to Tia Channell via email (tchannell@cityofraymond.com) or in person at City Hall.
- 04 Pay applicable fees in person or via InvoiceCloud online portal at time of submittal.
- 05 Building Inspector schedules review of submitted materials.
- 06 Schedule required inspections through Tia Channell during business hours (Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM).
- 07 Complete all required inspections before proceeding to next phase.
- 08 Receive final approval; structure may not be occupied until final inspection sign-off.
