Permit validity
A permit becomes invalid unless work begins within 6 months after issuance. The permit remains valid while regularly scheduled inspections continue. The Director of Inspections may grant written extensions of up to 6 months each for justified cause.
Owner-builder
The building or property owner, lessee, or agent may apply. The county also states the contractor should obtain the permit as part of the contract because the permit holder is responsible for code compliance.
Contractor requirements
