Contractor requirements

Initial and yearly renewal contractor registration fee is $100.00. State-licensed plumbers and electricians are exempt from the fee but still must complete the contractor license application and provide licenses and insurance renewals. Every trade must complete and return the contractor license application.

   Obtain the correct permit packet or application from the city permits page or City Hall.

   Complete the application with address, valuation, permit type, work description, and applicant signature.

   Pay the city permit fee.
4. 04
   The city submits the application for plan review to Bureau Veritas.

   After plan approval, the applicant is issued an approved building permit.
6. 06
   The contractor schedules required inspections at least 24 hours in advance.
7. 07
   Complete inspections and obtain a certificate of occupancy if the project requires one.
