Permit triggers and exempt work for Uvalde

Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Confirm zoning, boundary, and ETJ status on the city zoning map and zoning code.
- 02 Determine the correct application from the Planning and Development Department forms page.
- 03 Submit the permit application to the building official before starting work.
- 04 Submit contractor registration materials if the project will use a contractor and the permit desk requires registration.
- 05 Coordinate any additional land use, subdivision, floodplain, or code-specific approvals the project triggers.
- 06 Pay assessed permit fees before issuance. Work started before permit issuance is charged a double fee.
- 07 Complete inspections and any final sign-off required by the building official or permit desk before occupancy or use.
