Contractor requirements

Contractors needing a permit must register first. General and sign contractor registration fees are $50 per year. Plumbing, electrical, and mechanical contractors must provide state license information and proof of liability insurance as applicable.

   Start on the city Permits page and select the correct permit or permit packet.

   If the applicant is a contractor, complete contractor registration before permit submission.

   Submit the permit packet, plans, approvals, and supporting documents to Community Development at 300 W Main Street.

   Wait for plan review and permit issuance before starting work.

   Request required inspections through Building Services and complete final approval and any certificate of occupancy requirements.
