When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Kleberg County
Kleberg County does not operate a general building-permit department for ordinary vertical construction in the unincorporated area. The county defers to the State of Texas for ICC building codes and states it has no enforcement in place for general building permits.
Note: Unincorporated Kleberg County does not maintain a standard building-permit program. Residents should consult the county directly or contact the Flood Plain Management Coordinator for flood-related concerns. For any construction in incorporated areas (Kingsville, Corpus Christi), contact the appropriate city.
