Permit triggers and exempt work for Karnes City

- 01 Contact the Building Officials office at City Hall or call 830-780-3422 for the permit form.
- 02 Submit a written application for the permit on the city form.
- 03 Include a description of the work and, where required, construction documents and a site plan or plot plan showing new and existing structures and setbacks.
- 04 For commercial projects, submit engineered building plans for review before permits are issued.
- 05 Complete block and lot owner verification before the city issues a new permit, and submit the Utility Service Availability in Area work request form to the Utility Department.
- 06 For HUD-code manufactured homes, submit the additional title, warranty of habitability, plot plan, and related location information described on the city permit page.
- 07 Begin work within 180 days after permit issuance and avoid suspending or abandoning work for more than 180 days after commencement.
