Application process

- 01 Download the posted City of Memphis Building Permit form or obtain it from City Hall.
- 02 Complete the form with owner/contractor name, job location, use, estimated cost, room count, stories, dimensions, construction materials, roof type, foundation type, and plumbing information.
- 03 Submit the form to City Hall / City Secretary before work starts.
- 04 Pay the applicable permit fee at City Hall.
- 05 Complete city inspections by the Public Works Director.
- 06 Electrical work must pass inspection before current is turned on.
- 07 Permit is issued and the inspection record is completed once city requirements are satisfied.
