Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Confirm the parcel is inside Seminole city limits and identify the permit type. The public iWorQ portal has separate application paths for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, commercial building, residential building, and mobile home permits.
- 02 Complete the applicable online application or contact Code Enforcement/Permits directly. The public residential application requires property information, owner and customer information, project type, square footage, project cost, floodplain status, and file uploads.
- 03 Upload required supporting documents. The portal states contractor submissions must attach plans plus state license, certificate of insurance, and driver license materials, depending on permit type.
- 04 Submit the application to the city. The public portal states the linked contractor must be current to submit the form.
- 05 Pay the required fee. Seminole's code states building inspection fees are set by city council and kept on file in the city office; the public code page does not publish the actual fee table.
- 06 Wait for city review and issuance. For electrical work, the code states the enforcement officers issue the permit after proper application and payment of required inspection fees.
- 07 Schedule inspections. For electrical work, permit holders must allow the office twenty-four hours, excluding Sundays and holidays, before proceeding when an installation is ready for inspection.
- 08 Obtain final approval before utility connection or project closeout. The electrical code requires a certificate of compliance before electric service is connected.
