A building permit is required. Lorenzo's zoning ordinance states that no building may be erected, altered, or converted except in conformity with the district regulations. The ordinance states that a certificate of occupancy and compliance must be applied for together with the building permit.

   Confirm the parcel is inside Lorenzo city limits.

   Contact City Hall to obtain the current permit application and any required submittal instructions.

   Submit the building-permit application. Lorenzo's zoning ordinance requires the certificate of occupancy and compliance application to be made coincident with the building-permit application.

   Pay the permit application fee shown in the city's code.

   Complete the work in conformance with zoning and other city building laws.
6. 06
   Request final clearance so the Building Inspector can issue the certificate of occupancy and compliance after completion.

Typical processing time: The zoning ordinance states the certificate of occupancy and compliance will be issued within 10 days after completion if the work conforms.
