- Valid for 6 months from date of issue. Work must commence within 6 months.
- Contractor requirements
- Contractors and subcontractors must have State Licenses and Port Royal Business Licenses. Licensed Mechanical Plumber or HVAC contractor required for any gas work.
Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Submit building permit application in-person at Port Royal Town Hall (700 Paris Avenue, Port Royal, SC 29935), by mail (PO Drawer 9, Port Royal, SC 29935), or by email (permits@portroyal.org).
- 02 Submit construction drawing with application.
- 03 Permits Administrator reviews application completeness and calculates fees based on construction cost.
- 04 Pay permit fees based on fee schedule.
- 05 Building Inspector reviews construction drawing.
- 06 Permit issued with valid period of 6 months.
- 07 Schedule and pass required inspections by calling (843) 986-2236.
- 08 Obtain Certificate of Occupancy once all inspections passed.
