When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Montour County
The county zoning office issues zoning permits for Anthony Township, Liberty Township, Mayberry Township, and Washingtonville Borough. A zoning application, fees, and supporting documents are required. UCC building permit requirements are determined at the municipal level.
Note: Contact the Montour County Zoning Office to confirm whether your project requires a zoning permit before starting work.
- Zoning permit application
- Correct fees
- Supporting documents (sewage, driveway, floodplain, planning, conservation approvals as applicable)
- Zoning hearing or conditional use application if required
- Building code
- Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC); countywide UCC enforcement is not administered by the county — enforcement remains municipal or contracted.
- Contractor requirements
- No county contractor license requirement. Pennsylvania home improvement contractors performing work over $5,000 must register under the Pennsylvania Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act (HICPA).
