When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Fairfield County
The county reviews and issues permits required by the applicable current codes. Permits are required for new buildings, additions, renovations, demolition, occupancy or change of use, structural, electrical, HVAC/refrigeration, sprinkler/fire suppression, and related code-regulated work.

- 04 County staff performs plan review and issues the permit once plans are approved and fees are paid.
- 05 Keep permit, approved plans, and inspection card on site.
