Building permits required for construction within 3 miles of Lincoln city limits that falls outside any other incorporated city or village; county-level zoning permits required for land use changes and structures anywhere in the unincorporated county area

- 05 If in the remaining county area (beyond all ETJs), contact Lancaster County Planning Department at 402-441-7491 for county-level permit requirements and application
- 06 Submit building permit application with site plan, construction plans, and applicable fees to the appropriate authority
- 07 Plans reviewed for consistency with zoning district standards, subdivision regulations, and applicable building code
- 08 Permit issued upon approval
- 09 Schedule inspections; for electrical work in unincorporated county, contact Lancaster County (which has its own electrical inspection program)
- 10 Final inspection and certificate of compliance issued upon project completion
