When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Chappell
Building permits are required for all construction within the City of Chappell limits, except for agricultural buildings on qualifying farmsteads (see Special Programs section).
- Exempt Agricultural buildings on farmsteads of 20+ acres that produce $1,000 or more of farm products annually (per Neb. Rev. Stat. § 23-114.03)
Note: Agricultural exemption only applies to structures meeting the 20-acre and annual production thresholds. All other structures require a permit. Exempt from building permit does not mean exempt from zoning and planning requirements. Confirm exemption status with City Hall before proceeding.
