Application Process

  1. Confirm property is within Louisville city limits.
  2. Obtain the Building Permit Application form from the City Office or download at https://www.louisvillenebraska.com/city/BUILDING_PERMIT_APPLICATION.pdf.
  3. Prepare required documents including site plan showing lot dimensions, setbacks from all property lines, location of existing and proposed structures, and survey (required for all applications).
  4. Submit completed application and all required documents to City Office at 210 Main St. during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM).
  5. Pay all fees in full prior to the start of any construction. Fees are paid at the City Office after approval by the City Building Inspector.
  6. Permit is good for one (1) year from date of issue.
  7. Schedule required inspections (minimum 24-hour notice required). Call City Office at (402) 234-7605.
  8. Comply with all setback and zoning requirements for the applicable zoning district.
  9. For floodplain projects: obtain floodplain development permit and comply with elevation requirements.
  10. Receive final inspection and Certificate of Occupancy upon project completion.
