Contractor requirements

Electrical permits are issued by Minnesota DLI; commercial plumbing can be reviewed and inspected by SAFEbuilt where authorized

   Obtain the appropriate building permit application form from the city page or City Hall.

   Complete the application and supporting checklist materials.

   Submit by fax to 763-389-0993, by email to permits@princetonmn.org, or in person at City Hall.

   SAFEbuilt reviews the complete application and requests revisions if needed.

   Pay when the approved permit is collected by the applicant, then schedule inspections directly with SAFEbuilt.

Typical processing time: Residential zoning and building review permits are generally 5 to 7 business days after complete acceptance; commercial permits are generally 10 to 15 business days.
