Unincorporated Jackson County

All construction, reconstruction, remodeling, relocation, alteration, or repair of buildings in the unincorporated county must have a building permit before commencement.

Note: No public exempt-work list appears on county sites. The statutory requirement is to obtain a permit before any regulated construction activity.

Building code

Enforcement follows the statewide Kentucky Building Code as administered by the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction.
