When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Pocahontas
Required to erect, alter, enlarge, install, alter, repair, or replace regulated electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing work.
- Exempt Thin data. The public page does not provide a detailed exempt-work list.
- Permit application, two-copy scaled plot plan, contractor license copy if applicable, and certificate of occupancy application for commercial or industrial work.
- Building code
- City page says work must meet the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code or other applicable state and city building codes. This appears inconsistent with Iowa context and should be treated as a likely website content error or template issue, not a valid Iowa code citation.
- Owner-builder
- Homeowner may perform work on primary residence without a license, but permits and inspections are still required.
- Contractor requirements
- Proof of licensing required by all contractors to obtain permits.
