Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Verify whether the property is in a floodplain.
- 02 Complete the entire application.
- 03 Include a sketch of the proposed construction site.
- 04 Verify setback requirements.
- 05 If the project has wastewater output without access to sanitary sewers, obtain and submit a soil evaluation to the Douglas County Health Department before issuance.
- 06 If additions add bedrooms, county page says seepage change requirements apply and the Health Department will be referred.
- 07 County verifies applicable fees.
- 08 Return application to the Douglas County Highway Department.
- 09 After approval and fee collection, the permit is mailed or picked up.
