When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Elmore County
A building permit is required for constructing, enlarging, altering, repairing, moving, demolishing, or changing occupancy of any structure. A zoning permit must precede any building permit application.
- Exempt One-story detached sheds or playhouses under 200 sq ft
- Exempt Detached decks under 200 sq ft and under 30 inches high (not attached to dwelling)
