Permit validity

Permit becomes null and void if work is not started within 6 months or is suspended or abandoned for 6 months

Owner-builder

The building permit form includes a construction by owner field, but no separate public owner-builder instruction sheet was found

Contractor requirements

Contractors and subcontractors must have a city and/or county business license; electrical, plumbing, and mechanical subcontractors must also have a state trade license

   Download the applicable Fort Valley permit form and, when needed, the separate plan review application from the city forms page

   Complete the permit form with owner, contractor, valuation, square footage, zoning, and project description information

   Submit plans and the plan review application to Planning and Zoning when plan review is required

   Email completed planning and zoning forms to rmiller@fortvalleyga.org or deliver them in person at 204 West Church Street
5. 05
   After permit issuance, schedule inspections using the phone number printed on the permit form
