Permit triggers and exempt work for Gordon County

- 01 Contact Gordon County Building, Planning and Development at 706-629-0505 or visit the office to confirm whether a permit is required for the proposed work.
- 02 Gather prerequisite documents, including driveway inspection and addressing where applicable, recorded deed and plat, septic approval or no-impact documentation, and fire permit for commercial, industrial, and multifamily work.
- 03 Download the applicable permit application from the county building page. Commercial plans are uploaded through the county's ePlan Solutions portal.
- 04 Submit the application package to the Building Inspections Office at 215 N Wall St, 2nd Floor. The county states all permits must undergo plan review before work begins.
- 05 After review, county staff assign valuation and fees and notify the applicant when the permit is ready for payment.
- 06 After payment, begin work and call 706-629-0505 to schedule inspections. When inspections are complete, pick up the Letter of Occupancy if needed.
