When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Rincon
City publishes permits for new construction, remodeling, rehabilitation, pools, manufactured housing, and accessory structures. City also issues permits for electrical, fence, HVAC, plumbing, pools, signs and banners, mobile homes, solar panels, demolition, storage/accessory buildings, and gas piping.

- 01 Contact Planning & Development for project type and obtain correct application from New Construction or Online Forms page
- 02 Prepare two copies of construction plans and two copies of site plans for single-family building permits
- 03 Complete applicable permit application. Rincon building application form requires two copies each of site plans and construction plans; permit void after one year unless renewed on prorated basis.
- 04 If applying as owner-builder for new residence, submit Homeowner New Construction Permit Affidavit
- 05 Submit completed form package to Planning & Development at 302 S. Columbia Avenue and pay all applicable fees. All fees, including impact and tap fees, must be paid in full before permit issuance.
- 06 Await review and permit issuance, then schedule inspections by phone with at least 24 hours notice
