Two six-month extensions are allowed so long as work is continual and an inspection has occurred within each 180-day period.

- 01 Determine whether the work is in unincorporated Douglas County and whether a building permit is required. All structures of a permanent nature require a building permit, including swimming pools.

- 03 Gather the required permit package for the Building Permit Department. Requires floor plans reduced to letter size showing heated square footage and bedroom, bathroom, and fireplace counts, plus Res-Check, business license information for builders if not already on file, and a state general contractor license.
