When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Lee
Lee's Planning & Zoning department is responsible for interpretation and enforcement of the land development code and comprehensive plan as they relate to land use regulations, zoning codes, site and building new construction, and redevelopment.
Note: I did not verify a Lee-specific public exemption handout. Even if work may be exempt under the FBC, Lee zoning, floodplain, or land development approvals may still apply, so applicants should confirm with the town first.
- Building code
- Florida Building Code, 8th Edition (2023). Lee's land development regulations add municipal zoning, floodplain, and concurrency requirements. Wind design remains address-specific under the Florida Building Code and should be verified for the exact Lee project site.
