City of Winslow

A building permit is required when an owner or authorized agent intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change occupancy or use of a building or structure, or install, alter, or replace regulated electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing systems. A permit is also required for reroofing.

• Exempt Small detached accessory structures under stated size thresholds (structures still require zoning clearance and permit review)

Note: Exempt from building permit does not mean exempt from zoning and planning requirements. Confirm edge cases with Community Development before proceeding.
