When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Mobile County
Almost any residential or commercial work requires a permit in unincorporated Mobile County.

- County directs applicants to contact Inspection Services before beginning work. Alabama state contractor, home builder, and trade licensing requirements still apply.

- 01 Confirm the property is in unincorporated Mobile County and not inside a municipality with its own building department.
