General Requirements
Building permits are required for all new construction, additions, structural repairs, roofing replacements, mechanical and plumbing work, and demolition projects.

Work That Does NOT Require a Permit
- Tekoa follows Washington State minimum exemptions under RCW 19.27.060(7): the standard $1,500 residential minor work exemption applies (no structural work, no bedroom creation, no reduction of egress/light/air/ventilation; does not cover electrical, plumbing, or mechanical work).
