Contractor requirements

All contractors must be registered with Washington State L&I. Electrical permits issued by WA State L&I (Mill Creek does not issue electrical permits).

Building permit fees based on valuation (Table B): $2,000 or less: $88; $2,001-$25,000: 2.0% of Valuation + $175; $25,001-$50,000: 1.5% of Valuation + $635; $50,001-$100,000: 1.0% of Valuation + $1,010; $100,001-$500,000: 0.8% of Valuation + $1,510; $500,001-$1,000,000: 0.7% of Valuation + $4,710; $1,000,001-$5,000,000: 0.6% of Valuation + $8,210; $5,000,001 or more: 0.5% of Valuation + $32,210.

Reinspection fee

1.5x hourly rate (minimum 1 hour)

Payment note

Technology fee: 3% (applies to all development fees except telecommunications and state fees). State Building Code Fee: Residential $6.50 + $2 per dwelling unit over one; Commercial $25 + $2 per dwelling unit over one. Application/Permit Extension: $350 or 50% of permit fees (whichever is less). Additional fees: Demolition (IBC) $700, Demolition (IRC) $350, Fence $88, Re-roof (IRC) $175. Evening/weekend/holiday or expired permit reinspections: 2x hourly rate (minimum 2 hours). Certificate of Occupancy (not associated with building permit): $175.
