Fees
- Permit fee formula
- Permit fees based on valuation (effective January 1, 2026, Resolution 2025-09). Specific permit fees vary by project type.
- Payment note
- All fees increased by annual CPI-U. New 3% service fee for all transactions except check payments. Technology fee increased from 3% to 5%. Business License application fee: $40 (plus State $19 processing fee). Renewal: $25 plus State processing fee. Online permits available for: Commercial & residential building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Demolition, Re-roofing, Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler permits, and Land Use Applications.
Work That Does NOT Require a Permit
- Lightweight roof covering (installed unit less than 4 lbs/sq ft)
- Window replacement in existing openings (without reducing operable opening size)
- Standard IRC/IBC exemptions
Important: Two additional exemptions effective March 15, 2024: (1) Lightweight roof or reroofing covering (composition, metal under 4 lbs/sq ft), (2) Removal/replacement of exterior windows in existing openings without altering operable opening size.
