Application Process

  1. Download the Building Permit Application (PDF) from the city website or pick up at City Hall.
  2. Prepare required documents: site plan, construction plans (floor plan, elevations, foundation, framing), and energy compliance documentation per 2021 IECC with WA amendments.
  3. Submit in person at 1206 Columbia Ave during office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM).

  5. Upon approval and fee payment, permit is issued.
  6. Schedule inspections through Blades Code Services.

General Requirements

A building permit is required for new construction, additions, alterations affecting structure, mechanical, plumbing, and gas system installation, and demolition.
