Application Process

  1. For development/floodplain permits: Contact Randall County Road and Bridge to determine if your property is in a designated floodplain and which permit class is required.
  2. Class A Development Permits are required for development outside the mapped 100-year floodplain; Class B for development partially or wholly within the mapped 100-year floodplain.
  3. For OSSF permits: Contact Amarillo Area Public Health District Environmental Health to apply for on-site sewage facility permitting and inspection.
  4. For subdivision work: Submit plans to Randall County in compliance with county subdivision regulations.
  5. For typical building work (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, general construction): Confirm directly with the county, as unincorporated Randall County does not appear to maintain a comprehensive municipal building-permit program. Work within city limits is subject to city permitting.
