Building code: As of February 5, 2024, Sherman adopted the 2021 ICC Building Codes and the 2023 National Electrical Code.

Minimum permit fee: $75.00
Permit fee formula: Sherman publishes square-foot and flat-fee schedules. Examples include new residential at $0.50 per square foot, full residential remodels or additions at $0.50 per square foot, accessory buildings/accessory structures at $75.00, fences at $75.00, and swimming pools at $250.00.
