Application Process

  1. Start from the Applications, Procedures, and Permits page and download the appropriate forms, such as the Building Permit Application, Building Plans Review Permit Application Packet, mechanical permit, plumbing permit, sign permit, or foundation survey requirement.
  2. Assemble the required package. The Building Plans Review Permit Application Packet requires the applicant to submit the building permit application with four full plan sets for building plans review.
  3. Return completed and signed forms to the Planning and Codes Department at 223 Associates Blvd or use the Cityworks public portal to create an application. The portal allows guest creation, while an account provides full functionality.
  4. Staff and the Development Review Team review plans for compliance with adopted codes and city requirements. Comments must be addressed before permits are issued.
  5. Secure all required permits, including building, grading, temporary electric service, electrical, plumbing, gas, and mechanical permits as applicable.
  6. Pay all permit fees before inspections can be scheduled.
  7. Complete the required inspections and request the certificate of occupancy after all departmental approvals are complete.
