  • Like-kind replacement of windows, doors, exterior siding, and certain porch or deck surface elements may be exempt if no load-bearing work is involved.
  • Qualifying licensed-trade water heater replacements and certain like-kind residential electrical device replacements may be exempt under G.S. 160D-1110(a).
