Application Process

  1. Determine if the project is within a municipal boundary or unincorporated area.
  2. Download and complete the applicable Building Permit Application (Residential, Commercial, or Ag-Exempt).
  3. Submit application along with a site plan/positional diagram and construction drawings to the Building Safety Section.
  4. Zoning check followed by Building Safety review.
  5. Permit issuance upon fee payment.

Typical processing time: 5-10 business days for standard residential; longer for commercial.

General Requirements

New construction, additions, structural alterations (roofing, siding, windows), accessory structures (sheds, pools, decks), and mechanical/plumbing/electrical systems.
