Application Process

  1. Confirm the property is in unincorporated Orange County and not inside a municipality with its own building department or special process.
  2. Identify the permit type and collect the county checklist, application, plans, and any outside approvals required for zoning, engineering, utilities, floodplain, septic, schools, or other agencies.
  3. Submit the application and documents through Fast Track.
  4. Respond to plan review comments uploaded or emailed through Fast Track.
  5. Pay fees and complete permit issuance requirements. Approved plans and permit documents are downloaded from Fast Track and must be printed for the jobsite.
  6. Record and provide a Notice of Commencement when required.
