Application Process
- Submit the permit through the city's MGO process at mypermitnow.org.
- Upload plans and required documents; drawings are required for new or structurally modified buildings.
- Contractor records are reviewed for state, county, and local licensing plus insurance.
- Respond to review comments and pay fees.
- Schedule inspections and complete final approvals through the city.
Typical processing time: Permits remain valid for two years from issuance as long as work is continuous; permits become void after six months of dormancy unless extended.

General Requirements
A permit is required for the broad range of construction and system work regulated by the Florida Building Code, including many site improvements such as driveways, walkways, fences, retaining walls, docks, seawalls, boardwalks, dune walkovers, and grading.
