Application Process

  1. Confirm the property is within Cedar Key city limits and determine whether the project uses the Levy County application form or the city-only permit form for fences, sheds, or driveways.
  2. Obtain the proper application form from the city website or City Hall.
  3. Submit the application signed by the actual license holder; the city's current notice says acting agents' signatures are no longer accepted.
  4. Include the city's published forms and project-specific supporting documents.
  5. For new construction projects, submit a draft elevation certificate with the permit application per the city's April 16, 2025 notice.
  6. Schedule inspections or appointments through City Hall / the Building Department and obtain final approval.
