Application Process

1. Complete permit application forms and prepare required documents per local requirements and 8th Edition Florida Building Code.
2. Digitally sign and seal professional documents where applicable, with digital signature validation set up before submission.
3. Submit application electronically through the Collier County GMCD Public Portal (CityView) for contractors, design professionals, and agents.
4. County staff reviews completeness and routes plan review to applicable departments.
5. Pay invoiced plan-check and application fees. Applications are not considered submitted until materials are confirmed and fees are paid.
6. Respond to correction comments and upload revised documents if required.
7. Obtain permit issuance and pay remaining fees before starting work.
8. Schedule required inspections through the portal or contact Collier County inspection desk.
9. Comply with local City of Everglades land development code and floodplain overlay requirements where applicable.

Typical processing time: Varies by project complexity and completeness; next-day inspections available if requested before 4:30 p.m. the prior business day.

General Requirements

A permit is required to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert, or replace regulated electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing systems, per FBC Section 105.1 and local land-use and floodplain ordinances.
