Application Process
- If the project changes the footprint of the property by adding an addition, porch, deck, or building, first check setback regulations with Brooker Town Hall.
- Obtain a Town of Brooker Certificate of Compliance from Town Hall before applying to Bradford County. This certificate costs $100.
- Submit the building permit to Bradford County Building Department under the town-county interlocal arrangement.
- Follow Bradford County's submission, review, posting, and inspection requirements for the permit itself.
Typical processing time: 24 hours if no review needed; 7-10 business days for typical plan review (from Bradford County).
General Requirements
Building permits are required for work covered by the Florida Building Code. Brooker requires town-level setback review for footprint changes before the county permit application.

- State-certified and state-registered contractors must provide license copy, driver license, workers' compensation or exemption, and general liability insurance naming Bradford County.

- Bradford County fees apply. Minimum $54.00 (consisting of $50 permit fee plus $4 state surcharge). Permit cost depends on work type and is calculated using square footage, contract price, or both.
