Application Process

  1. Obtain a site plan identifying the property.
  2. Prepare construction plans conforming to Navajo County's adopted 2018 IRC and IBC based codes and 2017 NEC.
  3. Obtain proof of approved septic system or sanitary-district release.
  4. Submit permit application with site plan, construction plans, and septic proof to Navajo County Planning and Development Services.
  5. Applications are reviewed by Flood Control and the Building Department.
  6. Permits expire if work does not commence within 180 days or if more than 180 days pass between inspections.
  7. Obtain required inspections before project completion.
