- Determine if a zoning permit is required. Contact Zoning Administrator Will Young at westfieldzoning@gmail.com or (802) 715-3077. Permits are required for: construction, reconstruction, conversion, structural alteration, relocation, or enlargement of any building; mining, excavation, or landfill; changes of use; extension of land use; divisions of land; new driveways; wells; and ponds.
- Download the Zoning Application (updated 1-8-24) and instructions/flowchart from https://westfield.vt.gov/permits/ or pick up at the town office.
- Complete the application. The flowchart on the town website guides applicants through the process.
- Submit to the Town Clerk's office at 38 School Street, Westfield, VT 05874, during office hours.
- Pay the applicable fee (see fee schedule below).
- The Zoning Administrator reviews the application.
- Before any new driveway or curb cut, separately obtain a driveway permit from Road Commissioner Eric Kennison at (802) 673-5648. A driveway permit is a prerequisite for obtaining an E911 address.
- For public buildings, also apply for a DFS state construction permit.
- For projects with wastewater/well, obtain DEC permit.
- Contact E911 Coordinator Roger Gosselin at (802) 274-4502 for new address assignments.
