Application Process

  2. Plan Preparation: Submit complete plans per ORSC 2021 requirements including site plan, foundation plan, floor plans, cross-sections, and mechanical plans (required for stick-built dwellings).
  3. Application Submission & Initial Fee: Submit via Accela portal, in person, or by mail. Structural plan review fee invoiced at application entry and must be paid before plan examination.
  4. Plan Review: Average turnaround 2-3 weeks. Building Department reviews for compliance with adopted 2021 Specialty Codes and local Prineville ordinances.
  5. Permit Issuance & Remaining Fees: Upon plan approval, remaining fees and Structural Development Charges (SDCs) are invoiced. Must pick up inspection cards in person.
  6. Construction & Inspections: Construction must comply with approved plans. Shared County staff conduct inspections; schedule via phone or email.
  7. Project Closeout: Final inspection upon construction completion. Certificate of occupancy issued after final approval.
