General Requirements

County planning states zoning permits are required any time a building, sign, or other structure is constructed, moved, extended, enlarged, or structurally altered, with some exceptions.

Permit validity
County zoning permits expire 6 months after approval if work has not started. The residential permit form says all permits expire 6 months after issuance if work has not commenced, and expire if work stops for 12 months.

Owner-builder
