Application Process

  1. File Zoning Permit Application at least 7 days prior to desired action on the permit
  2. For projects outside Nebraska City but within its 2-mile ETJ, confirm with Nebraska City Building and Zoning whether a city building permit is also required
  3. If a new septic/onsite wastewater system is required, may require percolation test, system design, and scaled drawing meeting Nebraska Title 124 requirements
  4. Once approved, activity proposed must be initiated within 90 days of approval date or permit expires
  5. For new driveways off county roads, obtain separate Otoe County Roads Department Driveway Permit ($50 fee)
  6. For projects disturbing 1+ acres, file Nebraska NDEE Construction Stormwater NOI (General Permit NER210000) at least 7 days before grading begins
